These are optional and not required to sit for the certification examination.Step 5 - Schedule Proctor Session & Certification Exam
Once your application is approved you will be granted access to the examination and proctor session. We will send you instructions on how to proceed with registering for your proctored examination.Step 6 - Sit for the Certification Examination

Eligibility Requirements
Eligibility requirements for each certification examination is listed below as well as in the exam guide. If you have any questions over eligibility please chat with us or call us at 888-263-1650
Computer-Based Exam Fees
The examination fee is $450 USD.
Time Period of Approval
If your application is approved and you fail to schedule and take the exam within the one-year eligibility (candidacy) period, you will forfeit both the application and testing fee.
Retaking the Exam
You may take the exam up to three times during your two-year eligibility year. The fee to retake the exam is $450 for. If you fail the exam three times in your two-year eligibility period, you must wait 90 days.
If your Application is Denied
If your application is denied for any reason, you will receive a refund of your exam application fee minus a $135 nonrefundable processing fee.
Is the Exam Proctored?
The McAfee Institute utilizes ProctorU is a live online proctoring service available 24/7 that allows students to take all McAfee Institute certification exams from anywhere using a webcam and Internet connection. This service uses live proctors who monitor exams by observing the student (via webcam) and their computer screen in real time. The biggest benefit is that it allows students to take secure exams at their convenience while maintaining the integrity of the examination process. You have to have a quiet room, with a clean desk with nothing present on the desk to sit for the exam.
System Requirements
You cannot use a VPN, TVN or Proxy to access our site our course materials due to our security measures. In addition you will need a laptop or desktop computer as well. Review the following requirements for your camera, operating system, upload/download speeds, RAM, ports, microphones, and browsers. Also included is a list of technology not currently supported by ProctorU.
